Hotel California是我喜歡的一首老鷹合唱團(Eagles)的歌, 相信很多人都聽過
前陣子康熙來了剛好有一個單元, 請一些藝人唱英文歌, 小鐘就唱了這首Hotel California
然後蔡康永就問小鐘知不知道這首歌在講什麼, 小鐘說他其實也不是很了解, 以為就是一首感傷的情歌
(因為旋律也真的很像)
然後蔡康永就講了幾段歌詞的內容, 完全把這首歌導引到鬼故事
我當時以為同時上節目的賴世雄老師會提出他的見解(因為我以前的認知這首歌是跟鬼故事無關的)
結果賴世雄老師也沒解釋, 然後就在一群人假裝被嚇得毛骨悚然後, 跳到彩華姐唱另外一首英文歌
求知慾旺盛的我, 只好藉助於google, 發現還真的有些人認為這首歌是在講鬼, 有些人的解讀是這首歌是在講吸毒,用藥, 或者是在講一個精神病院的故事.....不過Don Henley(Eagles主唱之一)自己出來講了很多次, 這首歌是在講七十年代末南加州音樂圈的享樂主義及自我毀滅生活方式的上流社會生活. 也可延伸隱喻所謂美國夢的黑暗面
下面的翻譯是我隨意google到的, 這個人翻的不錯, 他的解釋是跟毒品比較有關, 紅字部分是那天蔡康永認為跟鬼有關
